Thyroid Management in Norman, OK
Comprehensive care for thyroid conditions and imbalances that can affect energy, metabolism, weight, and overall health.
Overview
What is Thyroid Management?
Your thyroid plays an important role in regulating metabolism, energy, mood, weight, and overall well-being. When thyroid levels are too high, too low, or out of balance, you may notice changes in how you feel and function. Thyroid management focuses on understanding your symptoms and thyroid health so your care can be tailored to your individual needs.
What We Offer
Our Thyroid Management Treatments
We offer natural thyroid hormones, synthetic hormones and supplements to support the thyroid and reduce autoimmune activity. We check the thyroid in depth for FreeT3, Free T4 and Reverse T3. We don’t assume that the TSH is the end all to monitoring thyroid function.
Natural Hormones
Natural thyroid hormones have been around for 200 years. Desiccated porcine thyroid glands and are 70% T3 and 30% T4. A buffered natural approach.
Synthetic Hormones
Levothyroxine (Synthroid) is synthetic T4 and Liothyronine (Cytomel) is synthetic T3. Synthetics allow a very specific thyroid augmentation and have their roles in thyroid management.
Supplements
Various supplements can augment T4 production, reduce Reverse T3 and augment T3 conversion.
Our Approach
Why Thyroid Management at Yeaman Wellness & Aesthetics?
In Depth Assesment
We check your thyroid levels in depth. TSH is assumed to always be accurate. Menopause, stress, and autoimmune disease can make TSH misleading.
Individualized Management
We asses the labs, but just as critically asses your symptoms and your physical exam to determine the most effective theraputic approach.
Experience
Experience matters, too much or too little thyroid can be harmful to your health. We titrate therapy carefully and monitor at routine/appropriate intervals. Weight changes, hormone changes and stress changes thyroid function.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the symptoms of a thyroid disorder?
Fatigue, brain fog, memory changes, depression, anxiety, dry skin, brittle nails, hair loss, weight gain, poor metabolism, arrythmias, palpitations, and changes in gut health. Thyroid effects a lot.
How is thyroid function evaluated?
We run in depth labs, TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3 and thyroid antibodies when appropriate.
What is the difference between hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism?
Too much or too little thyroid production can feel somewhat similar on the fatigue and brain fog front. Too much thyroid hormone feels a lot like too much caffeine with palpitations, sweating and anxiety. Too little can feel that way as well and is the more common of the two.
Can thyroid problems affect weight?
1000% Thyroid is the harmonic balancer of the endocrine system and there is a direct connection between liver function and efficiency and thyroid function. The liver is the metabolic motor of the body. We ignore thyroid and liver function unless you are sick in traditional Western Medicine. Not here.
What treatment options are available for thyroid conditions?
We use a combination of supplements, natural and synthetic thyroid hormones to optimize and augment function.
Will I need ongoing monitoring for my thyroid condition?
1000% Many things effect thyroid function and metabolism of thyroid hormones. Weight gain, weight loss, auto immune disease, other meds, acute and chronic illness.
Are there any side effects or downtime?
As with any medical intervention, there can be side effects and downtime. We do all we can to mitigate and eliminate them.
Who is a good candidate for medical weight loss?
Anyone experiencing the stress, life changes, and health changes we all encounter over time may benefit from medical weight loss. An evaluation can help determine if it is right for you.
